Virtual Book Launch: Love, Loosha

Zoom

Love, Loosha is the extraordinary collection of intimate letters between international best-selling fiction writer Lucia Berlin (1936–2004) and her dear friend, the New York School poet and Broadway lyricist Kenward Elmslie (1929–2022). Exchanging an average of two letters per week for ten years, the correspondence reveals the lives, work, and literary obsessions of two great American writers.

At Lighthouse’s Love, Loosha Launch, three authors mentored under Lucia Berlin (Erika KrouseJenny Shank, and Chip Livingston) will celebrate the publication of Lucia’s and Kenward’s collected letters by reading from the new book and discussing their correspondence, their friendship, and the private and public lives of these two important and influential writers. Love, Loosha: The Letters of Lucia Berlin and Kenward Elmslie is an intimate conversation between two friends—one in which readers are invited to participate—and editor/writer Chip Livingston will illuminate and continue that conversation with authors Erika Krouse and Jenny Shank and the Lighthouse audience via virtual Q&A.
